Britons are supposed to be renowned for their manners - but it seems something has changed.

A Onepoll survey for ITV Daybreak found a staggering 79% of Britons think other people's manners are getting worse.

The thing that annoys the public most of all, is when a person forgets to say 'please' or 'thank you'.

The top five most annoying bad manners:

  • Forgetting to say 'please' and 'thank you'

  • People checking their phone when you are talking to them

  • Queue jumping

  • People not offering seats to those in need on public transport

  • Lateness

Nearly 100% of people surveyed said that they felt they had good manners, but just under half of the people Daybreak spoke to said other people did.

Overall, they felt that British manners were getting worse.
