The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were joined by celebrities and Olympians for the Sun Military Awards.

The event, also known as the Millies or Night of Heroes, saw stars from cinema, sport, television and fashion attend to honour the services of the armed forces.

You can find out the story behind Lance Corporal Hayley Ridgeway's Life Saver award in the video below:

Lance Corporal Sean Jones, 25, 1st Battalion The Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, was awarded the Most Outstanding Soldier award, for his actions in leading a bayonet charge in Helmand province.

Other winners included Captain Si Maxwell, 24, Royal Marines, who completed an Iron Man race less than a year after losing a leg in a Taliban bombing, and was presented with the Overcoming Adversity award.

The soldiers involved in supporting security during the Olympics were also recognised, with a Special Recognition award being presented on behalf of the 17,500 soldiers, sailors and air force who stepped in when there was a shortage of security staff.
