Pippa Middleton London book launch: 'Let's not talk about Princesses'

Her Royal connections were conspicuous by their absence as Pippa Middleton launched her party book today, but her sister's presence loomed nonetheless as she faced a precocious child who 'hates princesses.'

Ms Middleton laughed before exclaiming, "better not talk about that one!" when the young girl, who was attending a party to launch the socialite's new book, stoutly told the Duchess of Cambridge's sister, "I hate princesses."

The children had been invited to a Halloween party to help launch Miss Middleton's first book, "Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities for Families and Friends" which is a guide to throwing the perfect party.

Miss Middleton joined in with children as they enjoyed face painting, crafts and leaf rubbing in a book shop in Fulham in London.

Despite a huge international media interest in the launch Miss Middleton has given no interviews to accompany her first book.
