Ex-BBC chief Mark Thompson 'will help with any inquiry'

Former BBC Director-General Mark Thompson has told ITV News he will help with any inquiry into the corporation's handling of the Jimmy Savile abuse allegations.

Speaking in New York, where he is now the chief executive of the New York Times, Mr Thompson added that he "took no part" in the decision to halt the Newsnight investigation.
