Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel get married

Heart-throb Justin Timberlake and actress Jessica Biel have got married.

After five years of dating on-and-off, the pair finally tied the knot in southern Italy on Friday, they told People magazine.

Timberlake, 31, and Biel, 30, who got engaged in December last year, released a statement saying, "It's great to be married, the ceremony was beautiful and it was so special to be surrounded by our family and friends".

Biel's spokeswoman Meredith O'Sullivan Wasson confirmed the report, but did not provide further details on the ceremony.

People magazine, which will publish exclusive wedding photographs next week, said the couple have been celebrating their nuptials much of the week.

They hosted a party on Thursday where guests snacked on local food and wine, while on Wednesday they headed to the beach for a party complete with fireworks.

Timberlake's previous high-profile relationships include Britney Spears, "Charmed" actress Alyssa Milano and Cameron Diaz.
