Swinging in to action: The swing states that could decide the US election

As early voting gets under way in North Carolina, one of the key battleground states in the US presidential elections, the focus of both campaigns is beginning to narrow.

There are at least seven 'swing states', all of which will play a decisive role in the elections.

Some like Nevada, Colorado and Iowa in the West, carry just a handful of electoral votes.

But others like Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Virgina carry significantly more.
