Police today intensified their focus on suspect Mark Bridger as the search for April Jones continued.

Detectives appealed for anyone who had been on contact with the 46-year-old by text message or social media to call them immediately.

They said the picture of Mr Bridger's movements from shortly before April went missing at 7pm on Monday to his arrest at 3.30pm on Tuesday remained "incomplete".

Officers plan to interview him again today after being granted until 5pm on Friday.

It appears Mr Bridger spoke at least initially after his arrest with Detective Superintendent Reg Bevan saying they planned to "overlay his account" with information from the public and eyewitnesses.

There is a "vast amount" of forensic analysis ongoing but those tests alone will not solve the case, police warned.

Other lines of inquiry separate to Mr Bridger are being pursued but there appear to be no other suspects currently.
