Global star Usher has postponed his UK and European gigs after landing a role as a coach on the US version of talent show The Voice, and being given the care of his two sons.

The dates, including a concert at Sheffield's Motorpoint Arena for February, have now been put back until the autumn of next year.

Promoters of the Euphoria tour apologised and said the postponement was "to ensure that his fans worldwide are treated to the best possible concert experience".

They said it was due to his "professional and personal commitments", and followed his commitment to the US singing show.

In a message to fans, the US star said:

The rescheduled dates are due to be announced next year but tickets for previously scheduled performances will not be valid, it said on his website. Fans are urged to return tickets for refund at the point of purchase.

The father-of-two was last month given primary care of the children he had with ex-wife Tameka Foster.
