Widower of murdered officer calls for arming of police on duty
Today's killing of two police women in Manchester bring back memories of the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in Bradford in November 2005.
She had been responding to reports of a robbery at a travel agent when she was shot dead. Her colleague, PC Teresa Millburn, was also shot and sustained serious wounds to the chest.
Three suspects were later convicted of her murder and a further two of manslaughter.
Her widower, Paul Beshenivsky, spoke to ITV News exclusively about what he believes needs to be done to prevent future attacks like this on police officers.
