The capital gets stylish as London Fashion Week kicks off
London Fashion Week kicked off in style on Friday.
The event, which runs until Tuesday, will see top designers from Britain and all over the world display their collections.
Caroline Rush, chief executive of the British Fashion Council which organises London Fashion Week, said the event had got off to a "fantastic" start.
"It's been a really strong start, it's always a little bit of a whirlwind on the first day but I think there's a real buzz out there and a lot of excitement."
Friday's catwalk shows included Antoni and Alison, Caroline Charles, Maria Grachvogel, Bora Aksu, Corrie Nielsen and Sass and Bide.
Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone was also in town to showcase his Nico Didonna designs.
As is to be expected at London Fashion Week, the front row contained some well-known faces.
Sixties modelling icon, Twiggy, attended the Sass and Bide show. Speaking ahead of it, she said:
Saturday's line-up includes Clements Ribeiro, Issa London, and one of the Duchess of Cambridge's favourite British fashion labels Whistles.
