Robert Pattinson dodged the subject of Kristen Stewart's infidelity when he appeared live on Good Morning America.

"Everybody just wants to know: how are you doing?" asked presenter George Stephanopoulos.

The actor replied: "I mean, you know, they seem pretty excited about kind of whatever.

"They're literally like... I'd like my fans to know that Cinnamon Toast Crunch has 30 calories per bowl. Pretty much everything that comes out of my mouth is irrelevant."

Talking about his personal life, Pattinson added: "it's a different thing. You go into it to do movies.

"I've never been interested in trying to sell my personal life. That's the reason why you go on TV, is to promote movies."

The 26-year-old British actor has been out of sight since his girlfriend and Twilight co-star was photographed with her arms around director Rupert Sanders last month.

He endured several awkward questions in his first televised interview on The Daily Show earlier this week.

The Cosmopolis star is to follow in the footsteps of great British actor Peter O'Toole, by playing Lawrence Of Arabia.

The actor will star as British army officer TE Lawrence in Werner Herzog's new film, Queen Of The Desert.
