Unique Olympic memorabilia to be sold at auction

Fans of the London Olympics are being given the chance to bid for unique parts of memorabilia from the Games.

Visitors to the London 2012 auction website are able to bid on a series of items used in the Olympic Games.

Costumes and props used in the opening ceremony and sporting equipment used in the contests are among the items up for sale.

The bid for an apron worn by one of the dancers dressed as nurses during the opening ceremony is currently at £26, meanwhile, a costume worn by one of the performers dressed as Mary Poppins is set to be sold for £225.

An Olympic Torch autographed by Sir Steve Redgrave is currently being sold on the site for £3,040.

A set of boxing gloves used in the women's 60kg semi-final are also up for grabs, with the current bid standing at £335.

Among the other parts of equipment up for sale include the official London 2012 shot put used in the women's athletic competition.
