The police have told ITV News "a number of arrests" have been made under section 12 of the Public Order Act after cyclists taking part in the Critical Mass bike ride broke the conditions of their protest in central London.

The cyclists who usually meet on the last Friday of every month had been served with an order forbidding them from taking to the streets near the Olympic stadium.

The arrested cyclists have been detained under Section 12 of the Public Order Act.
