The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are hosting an Olympics reception for around 100 heads of state and heads of government at Buckingham Palace.

Guests include the US First Lady Michelle Obama, the president of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge and Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev.
