As the Home Office announce that another 1,200 extra troops might be needed, this picture appears to show exhausted servicemen getting some sleep between shifts covering security for the Olympics.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed to ITV News that the picture of Navy personnel asleep on chairs was taken in a rest area at the Greenwich Park Olympic venue.

The picture has been shared on the internet all day, but it has taken until now for the MOD to confirm they believe it is genuine.
