American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez has followed Steven Tyler's lead and quit the show.

The singer's representative Mark Young, said Lopez will not be back for a third year on the top-rated but struggling talent show.

Lopez broke the news to the show's host Ryan Seacrest on his radio show, she said:

After hearing the news, Seacreast tweeted:

On Thursday, Steven Tyler announced he was leaving the show because he wants to dedicate himself to his band, Aerosmith.

It means the "Idol" panel is down to one, original judge Randy Jackson.

"American Idol" has been US TV's most popular program for nearly a decade, but its ratings have declined in recent years.
