Fleetwood Mac are the latest veteran music act to get back on stage, with lead singer Stevie Nicks confirming the group will reunite next year.

The Anglo-American band, as famous for their mid-70s inter-group tiffs as much as Lindsey Buckingham's stadium-filling riffs, last toured together in 2009.

Drummer Mick Fleetwood hinted earlier this year that they were unlikely to perform again, despite his interest, because his former bandmates wanted to go their own way.

But Nicks told the US channel CBS that the reunion was pencilled in for "next year" once her and Buckingham have found space in their solo schedules.

"It's the plan," she said. "Because that's what we do. I do my thing. And Lindsey is out doing his thing now. Everybody's on board."
