Army widow opens retreat for bereaved military families
Huge credit to army widow Nikki Scott.
When we filmed with her back in March in our coverage of the military death toll in Afghanistan passing 400, she was raising money to provide treats and outings for the children of the fallen.
This week, her charity Scotty's Little Soldiers, named in memory of her husband Corporal Lee Scott, opened a £100,000 holiday home at the seafront at Great Yarmouth for the sole use of bereaved military families.
First to benefit were Amy Lawrence and three-year-old Jess, who are having difficult times as the third anniversary of Trooper Phillip Lawrence's death approaches.
Ten more military widows will follow them and Nikki hopes it will be the first of a network of holiday homes funded by public donations.
