Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber has given himself a monumental task in his latest search for a star - this time he is casting Jesus Christ.

The musical maestro returns Saturday night on the ITV1 show "Superstar," with Dawn French, former "Jesus Christ Superstar" Jason Donovan and Spice Girl Mel C on the judging panel as "Britain's Got Talent" judge Amanda Holden takes on the role of host.

Lloyd Webber told ITV's Fred Dinenage he does not mind which of the show's finalists gets one of the most iconic roles in stage, film and television.

Viewers will see the singers from the first auditions being knocked down to the final 40 contenders on Saturday night's programme.

The winner of "Superstar" will take to the stage alongside Mel C as Mary Magdalene, Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles as King Herod and Tim Minchin as Judas on a national tour, which starts at the O2 Arena on September 21.
