Lady Gaga's Indonesian concerts cancelled after protests from religious groups
Promoters in Indonesia say Lady Gaga's concert in Jakarta has been cancelled because of security concerns.
Islamic groups in Indonesia have expressed their opposition to the concert, scheduled for June 3rd, demanding it be stopped due to her "vulgar" style.
"She's a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil's child and that she will spread satanic teaching," said Salim Alatas, the Jakarta head of hardline Islamic Defender Front (FPI).
Muslim protesters held signs which called the singer 'Infidel' and 'Demon'.
Concert promoter Michael Musli said: "Lady Gaga's management has finally decided to cancel the show on the grounds of security concern of personnel side. So, it has nothing to do with other rumours about a permit."
Dancer and Gaga fan Agung Kris said: "I am very disappointed. We were so excited. I bought tickets already."
