10 things we learnt on day 14
Relationships and friendships were pushed to the limit on day 14, as cracks among the girls became gaping holes. A shock recoupling saw Anton choose Elma and Tommy pick Molly-Mae, leaving bombshell Maura all alone. As she and Anna headed out to meet two new boys, the remaining couples found out they would be forced to turn on each other. Hurry. Up. Tomorrow. Here's what we learnt on day 14.
1. All is fair in love and war
Tommy’s latest love triangle (his third in two weeks...) showed no signs of straightening out, as Molly-Mae pulled Maura for a very tense chat. Battle lines were drawn as Maura refused to back down. Again. GULP.
2. Hot sauce > hot gossip
When Tommy and Lucie’s whispering annoyed the rest of the Islanders, there was only one thing to do - distract themselves from the tension with a chilli sauce challenge. Riiight…
Lesson for us all: whispering won’t go down well if it’s a) with a boy you were previously sharing a bed with b) in front of a girl who you have fallen out with and c) in eyesight of the boy you’re coupled up with...
3. The wedding challenge brought vows... of revenge
Our ladies really lived up to the title of bridezilla in the challenge, stopping at nothing to get their men - and their revenge. We thought Maura planting a very lingering kiss on Tommy’s lips was pretty bold, but then things got VERY messy in the food fight when Lucie and Amy took to each other with a chocolate sponge.
4. Cake-covered Amy was left in tiers
Amber unleashed her fire on Lucie back at the villa when Amy was left in tears after taking more than one direct hit from the surfer in the food fight. It’s all fun and games until someone’s crying and covered in ketchup.
5. There’s nothing like trying to save your friendship in front of an audience
Want some popcorn to go with that view guys?
6. Amy’s falling for Curtis…
After consoling his half girlfriend on the roof in the perfectly swoon way that only Curtis can, Amy wanted to make sure he knew the strength of her feelings. “I know you say I never give you compliments, but I want you to know that I am really, really falling for you.”
Aren’t we all, Amy. Aren’t we all.
7. ...but Joe’s crash landed
Lucie’s been feeling a chill from the other girls for days, but today her bae revealed he’d also started to have doubts about his relationship with her as she spent more time with Tommy. “It is a bit odd,” he told Molly-Mae. “I was ready to fall for somebody, but now I feel like she’s not the person I met.”
8. Two eggs make for a good omelette
Pulling Elma for a chat about where they’re at, Anton realised he's slowly ticking all the right boxes for the eyelash technician. Later in the Beach Hut, Elma gave the term ‘cracking on’ a whole new meaning.
“I think we’re on the right path. He’s a good egg, and I’m a good egg. I think we’d make a good omelette.”
9. Ice lollies can heat you up as well as cool you down
Well, they can if Maura’s got her hands on one and your name's Tommy Fury.
10. The Islanders are about to turn on each other
Moments after our Islanders had reshuffled into their new couples, a text rocked our cosy boys and girls as it was revealed they'd have to turn on each other and pick the two least compatible pairs. We are SO here for this...
