Meet the boys
Haris, 21 from Doncaster
TV salesman Haris is hoping to sell himself well to the girls in the villa. “I’m different, I’m a unique guy, the way I act; confident, not awkward, especially with the girls,” he says.
When it comes to turnoffs, Haris’s ick is girls with big feet. “Anything over a size 5” is a no no!
The South Yorkshire lad is yet to find his perfect match, but won’t be dropping the L-bomb until he gets the ultimate seal of approval. “I’m not going to say I’ve fallen in love until I’ve taken them to meet my mum and dad,“ he says.
Shaq, 24 from London
Airport security officer Shaq will be checking into the villa in hopes of finding the one. “Hopefully I do come out with my future wife. The person I hope to marry one day.” Manifesting this!
When it comes to love, Shaq is ready to dive in and give it his all. “If I find someone I click with, I fall very hard, very fast,“ he says.
In the hunt for finding his perfect match, he’s not afraid of a little competition. “I do put myself first and I’m not scared to just go for what I want, if I have to step on people’s toes or things like that.” Boys, you’d better have your grafting boots on tight!
Ron, 25 from Essex
Ron says his best physical feature is his eyes, having one blue and one green. “On meeting me, you’d never know I am blind in one eye.” But it does come in handy when it comes to grafting! “It's a good conversation starter, I must admit.”
This financial advisor has been busy focusing on his career, but confesses it’s got in the way of finding love. “I now feel that I’m emotionally ready to say, ‘I’m now ready to find someone.’”
He’s not a big fan of dating apps and texting, so Ron reckons villa life will be a breeze. “Being in there, chatting to someone 24/7 that suits me and my personality.” Girls, get ready for some deep meaningful convos!
Kai, 24 from Manchester
Science and PE teacher Kai is no stranger to chemistry and putting on the chase, but will he be able to find his match in the villa?
He isn’t shy when it comes to getting attention, but settling down seems to be Kai’s struggle. “I’m single by choice. I’m looking for the right girl. I don’t feel I should commit to someone unless I’m absolutely buzzing over them,” he says.
Fun fact: Kai is a Jamaican citizen and has previously played rugby 7s for Jamaica. He currently plays semi-professional rugby for Burnage RFC. So when he gets into the villa, it’s sure to be game on!
Will, 23 from Buckinghamshire
Farmer Will is swapping country life for the stunning South African villa. “Love Island will give me time away from the farm to solely go out and find love,” he says. Sounds baaa-rilliant!
But it’s just not his sheep that stop him finding the one... Will admits commitment issues are his main roadblock. “I self sabotage myself sometimes when I’ve got a good thing going.”
If the other Islanders want a fun atmosphere and great energy at all times, Will’s your guy! “I’m a bit of a cheeky chappy, good vibes, good to be around.” We’ve got three words for you: bring it on!
