Five things we learnt on day 49
Alex's late night role-play did the trick for Alexandra, who couldn't stop smiling about her man on day 49. Megan and Wes tried - and failed - to get some alone time, and it was Ladies Day at the races as the girls were challenged to gallop to victory... on space hoppers. The Islanders were made up when a sizzling date gave Alex and Alexandra some super romantic feels, but news of a dumping ruined the mood, and new Josh and Steph said goodbye to the villa. Here's what else we learnt.
1. Don’t sit on a bean bag if you're trying to impress
He laid on all the charm for Laura, but even Cool Paul couldn’t navigate the bean bag well enough to move in for a kiss. Debriefing the boys on all the action, he told them: “I was trying to lean across and I started sinking," before warning: “If you ever want to go in for a nice kiss on the bean bag, it’s never going to look styled.”
Noted.
2. Role-play solves everything
Alex hoped some smooth role-play moves would get him and Alexandra back on track, but even he couldn't have predicted she would be quite so impressed."This is what I need, just that bit of manly confidence, a bit of bravado, " she told the girls the next morning. "If you guys ever get into problems with your relationships just role-play, it solves everything!" she added.
Better grab that fireman's uniform Alex, it worked like a charm.
3. Everybody's heart can break
Not everyone feels comfortable opening up about their feelings, and hearing Jack discuss his experience of heartbreak was a powerful thing. “Talking to the others about it was refreshing, because guys don’t really do that,” he told us after revealing to the boys that he once cried in the supermarket over a tin of tomato soup.
4. The most stunning girls in Britain still can’t make a space hopper look sexy
Just going to leave this here.
5. We've a sudden urge to place a stationery order
Kaz wasn't the only one who was won over with that pitch - Jack really HAS got the chat when it comes to selling pens.
