Love Island

Eight things we learnt on day 52

It's the return of the babies! Our Islanders woke up to six very needy new arrivals, and some were definitely happier than others to play at being parents. New Jack couldn't get enough, while Josh couldn't get away fast enough. Our dream daddies were left holding the baby when the ladies left for a girlie date, and the villa was reduced to chaos. Parents evening took an emotional turn when news of a dumping saw new Laura and Jack say their goodbyes. Here's what we learnt.

1. Dr Alex is back on shift

The Islanders wanted to make sure their new bundles of joy were healthy, and luckily there was a doctor on hand. “I’ve had a very busy morning doing full baby checks,” Alex told the Beach Hut, to which tired new mum Alexandra replied: “I think that was you running away from your responsibilities a little bit." Ahh, parenthood.

2. You should check the sex of your baby at birth

…And so Aubrey became Audrey for proud parents Jack and Laura.

3. Babies can make you very resourceful

Parenthood is known to stretch the budget, and why should you buy a new sun hat when your baby’s shorts will do the trick?

4. Josh is DEFINITELY not ready to be a dad yet

We were worried he wasn’t supporting Prince’s head properly… and then the poor little cherub lost his arm. Step away Josh, step away.

5. The day was educational on many levels

When the boys asked Alex what actually happens during a c-section, we’re pretty sure they weren’t expecting such a thorough, detailed answer. It's important to be fully informed, lads.

6. A pushchair race is NOT an acceptable activity for a baby

We knew it was all going to end in tears…

7. Laura and Jack have ridden their final wave in the villa

Laura’s stint on the Island was short and sweet - and full of plenty of highs and lows, but she used her time wisely and left the villa having bagged herself an absolute fitty, and Jack was feeling pretty chuffed too. Nice work everyone.

8. We REALLY need to know who's going to carry on the beatbox

Who’s going to rap about parenthood and surfer’s falling from heaven now?
