8 things we learnt on day 5

The arrival of bombshell Molly-Mae and news of a recoupling sent a double whammy of OMG gasps around the villa on day 5. Tensions rose even higher when our hot new arrival choose Curtis to cosy up to for her second hot tub date. The girls made some tough choices at the recoupling, and poor Callum was the very first Islander to be dumped from the island. Here’s what we learnt on day 5...

1. Molly-Mae has entered the friend zone...Molly-Mae made her presence felt very quickly in the villa after choosing Curtis to join her in the hot tub for her second date of the evening. However, the fizz fell flat as Curtis quickly friend-zoned her and made his feelings for Amy clear. As a wise Islander once said “It is what it is”.

2. …and Amy has a good game faceMolly-Mae’s choice of date didn’t go down well with the other Islanders when she walked into the villa arm in arm with Curtis. We could almost feel the temperature drop. “I’m not really sure she knows about girl code,” Amy fumed to the Beach Hut, “but no. It’s not really the way to go about things.” The air hostess managed to keep her cool as Molly-Mae made her big entrance - but those gritted teeth weren’t fooling anyone.

3. That lounge could host the ultimate sofa Sunday.Have you seen the size of it? Pillow fort anyone?

4. Joe is a very agile manLook at that control, people!

4. Yewande LOVES a text No need to question who received it - ‘got a text’ bounced around the island and almost knocked Michael off his feet. Plenty more where that came from, Yewande...

6. When it comes to Islanders, there’s good, bad and sexy The western-themed challenge had the boys saving their damsel-in-distress tied to a train track, but not before they stripped out of their chaps, rode a mechanical bull and collected the golden nuggets, of course. Between Joe almost losing his hat (and his cool when Tommy kissed Lucie) to Callum's performance that was worthy of a ‘yee-nar’, there was definitely a mix of the good, the bad and the sexy.

7. The recoupling up was a shockerWith a number of very uncertain couples in the villa, we just couldn't predicthoe the recouple was going to go down. Anna was uncertain of her choice and the mega dramz LoveSquare™ expanded into a LovePentagon™ with Molly-Mae’s arrival. Shocks were had left, right and centre with Anna choosing to couple up with Sherif again, Lucie recoupling with Joe and Amber’s shock decision to save Anton, leaving Callum lonely.

8. Callum said goodbyeIt was Welsh nice-guy Callum who was left standing after the recoupling and became the first person to be dumped from the island. He may have not found love (or any compliments regarding his age or sunglasses from Amber) but he leaves the villa with a shiny new suitcase, so every cloud, right?
