Sister Sledge reveals music inspired by their mum
It's about WAMOW power!
American pop group Sister Sledge join Lorraine live in the studio to discuss their involvement in campaigns around International Women's Day and look ahead to their new single, Women Are the Music of the World - a track celebrating female empowerment, inspired by their mother.
Formed in 1971, Sister Sledge was one of the most successful all-female groups of the 70s and 80s, with hits including We Are Family and Lost In Music.
Over the years they've performed alongside some of the greatest names in music, including James Brown and The Jacksons!
Champions for female empowerment, Debbie, Joni and Kim Sledge have supported the UN Woman's new campaign UNiTE to End Violence against Women, and continue their mission to spread a message of love and unity through music.
Last Sunday, the soul divas took part in the Walk in her Shoes event in London alongside Annie Lennox, Bianca Jagger and Helen Pankhurst, and they are also taking part in the Women of the World Festival.
