Life Before Loose: Denise on Corrie, finding love and dealing with depression

From the Corrie Cobbles, to finding love and dealing with depression, we're going on a trip down memory lane for Denise's Life Before Loose, and what better place to start than right at the beginning with a truly scrumptious childhood thanks to the family sweet factory business. Watch above.

So how did our Denise get into acting? Find out below...

In 1997, Denise joined Coronation Street and became a household name. But she admitted to struggling at the beginning saying, "everyone thought I was having this brilliant time, but certainly for the first 3 or 4 months, I was incredibly lonely." Watch below.

Denise also spoke about how she still experiences severe episodes of depression, but now knows how to work through them adding she "feels great that 30 years on, we now have much more of an open dialogue about mental illness."

She went on to say: "I'm married to the most wonderful man, who is my soulmate" explaining that "we got sober together and so our sober life enables us to do so much, and it's not just us that it's benefited, it's the ripple effect on our family's lives who were worried about us when we were in a bit of a state."
