Jonathan Ross opens up about the loss of his mother
Chat show host, Jonathan Ross opened up about the loss of his mother, revealing he wasn’t able to see her on the day she died.
The TV chat show legend joined us on Loose Women and shared how the loss of a parent isn’t something he feels you get over.
His mum, Martha was no stranger to the world of television, having worked as an extra on BBC soap EastEnders for many years. She sadly passed away in January this year after battling cancer.
Expressing the devastation of losing a parent, he said: "I mean it is devastating. You know it's going to be a big loss, but you don't really know how it is going to feel. I don't know if you ever fully get over it."
He added: “We assumed she would be around for a lot longer. Then she got ill and this phone call went round. We had this family WhatsApp group so we all kept in touch.”
"I feel bad because everyone said: 'Oh, we will all go and see her.' And I said: 'Let's not all go and see her today because then there is no one going to see her tomorrow. Let's spread it out during the week. So who can only go today?'
He added: "Two of them went there, and then she died that day. That last day that I would have seen her.”
