Jake Quickenden says 'I wanted to sort an insecurity out' as he shows off the results of his hair transplant

Reality star Jake Quickenden revealed the insecurities he's suffered for the past five years as he unveiled the results of his recent hair transplant.

On first glance you'd think the handsome X Factor singer would have no issues in the confidence department, but Jake revealed his woe behind closed doors after he started to go bald.

Showcasing the results of his £5k procedure just 11 days ago, he said: "I have just done something for myself to sort an insecurity out. It's been with me for about five years.

"It was a bit painful at first when I tried to sleep and it's still a bit scabby at the back. My hair now looks like a toupee as I can't style it yet."

Revealing his unease he said: "For the past five years I have woken up and seen hairs on my pillow. I used this brown powder to cover it up (the receding hair line) and when I took a bath it would look like a swamp afterwards."

Danielle said: "He was just really insecure, I would be waiting to get ready but if he wasn't happy with how his hair looked when we were going out he'd get back into the shower and I'd still be waiting."

Jake previously shaved his head for The Teenage Cancer Trust but the results made him realise he needs his hair to make himself feel good: "I said to myself: 'You need hair, you are ugly'”.

Jake revealed he wanted to sort his hair out to feel confident on his wedding day - even though he has yet to propose.

Looking a little concerned at what was in store at first, Jake then duly made a vow to one day propose to Danielle for real before swapping 'Haribo' rings.
