Sherrie Hewson

Sherrie Hewson is the longest serving Loose Women panellist and has continued to entertain and empathise with the nation for the past 11 years.

Outside of her work in daytime television Sherrie was possibly best known for her iconic portrayal of Maureen Holdsworth in Coronation Street, this was of course before ITV's most popular comedy Benidorm came calling! Joyce Temple Savage was created by the wonderful writer Derren Litten especially for Sherrie and immediately proved such a hit with audiences and critics alike that Sherrie became a permanent cast member and has already filmed the second series which airs Spring and is due to film the third series next March.

Sherrie is one of the most respected actresses in the country. She began performing at the tender age of four and won an Olivier Award at the age of 15 which was the first of many prestigious awards throughout the years including Best Actress and Best Comedy Actress. She was granted a scholarship for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and has gone on to have an impressive career in film, television and theatre.

Sherrie is also a regular guest TV critic for the Sunday Mirror, has written a novel called The Tannery and her autobiography Behind the Laughter was a best seller. Her latest project is a cookery book called Nana's Kitchen. This is her with her daughter and grandchildren creating a whole new take on Family Food; Sherrie's way! A busy year to come but of course Sherrie loves Loose Women and is very loyal and passionate about the show and looks forward to sharing time with the nation daily for many years to come.

My favourite memory from working on Loose Women is: It was my first day in 2002 when I auditioned at ITV for Loose Women, we were in the middle of the live show and as I was talking I fell off my stool and disappeared behind the desk!

If I wasn’t presenting Loose Women, I’d be: Presenting a fun cookery show

You’d be surprised to learn that: I am a car fanatic!! Love Formula 1 and Vintage cars.

The one thing I couldn’t live without is: My daughter and my grandchildren
