Paul McGann on the new Doctor Who lead: 'I want Tilda Swinton to be the next Doctor'
FORMER DOCTOR WHO PAUL MCGANN WANTS A FEMALE ACTRESS TO TAKE THE ROLE NEXT
He's played the doctor in Doctor Who twice and now Paul McGann is backing the idea of a new female Doctor.
'Wherever you're from there's females,' Paul said. 'There's Gallifreyan females.'
'Steven Moffat has described the character as one character, many faces – why not female?'
And when asked which of the bookies' favourites to be the next Doctor he'd pick, Paul chose Hollywood actress Tilda Swinton.
'Tilda, because she's a great actor. She's got that kind of David Bowie thing,' he said.
Tilda is the bookies' favourite to be the first female Doctor, alongside Olivia Coleman, Maxine Peake and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
