Jake Quickenden's mum Lisa breaks down in tears as he reads out emotional letter: 'I hope I make you proud'
JAKE QUICKENDEN READS EMOTIONAL LETTER TO HIS MUM PAYING TRIBUTE TO HIS DAD AND BROTHER
We know his as a cheeky chappie but X Factor's Jake showed a different side to him when he brought his mum Lisa on the show.
In an emotional interview, they talked about his brother Oliver and dad Paul who both died of cancer.
'If Jake hadn't gone through X Factor, I would've had a breakdown,' Lisa revealed. 'Him looking forward to things gave us something to focus on. We needed that, not to forget but something to distract us.'
And Lisa broke down in tears when Jake read out a letter he'd written for Mother's Day.
'You've always supported me even when I was just laying round the house and messing everything up,' Jake read.
'You had faith in me and pushed me to follow my dreams. I know your heart is still broken but Oliver would be so very proud of how you've carried on.
'I know how much he loves you because it's exactly as much as I do. I didn't really deal with losing Dad and Oliver. Like everything, I tried to carry on and put it to the back of my mind but you helped me cope. I knew I had to be strong for you, as did Adam.
'Oliver and Dad will be watching down, guiding us along in everything we do, so don't ever think you won't see them again, because you will. He's always around.
'I hope I make you proud because you've made me the man I am today. Love you always.'
