Five Star singer Lorraine Pearson nearly married actor Eddie Murphy: 'We got engaged after five days!'

Five Star were one of the biggest bands of the 1980s with hits System Addict, Can't Wait Another Minute, Find the Time, Rain or Shine, Stay Out Of My Life and The Slightest Touch.

And Lorraine joined us to talk about life in the band with brothers Stedman and Delroy and her sisters Denise and Doris.

Lorraine also explained that Five Star has split, although her sister Denise still performs the band's tracks with backing singers.

'I left Five Star so many times. I've not been with the band for six years,' Lorraine said.

And she no longer speaks to her sister Denise either, saying, 'My sister Denise and I never got on as we got older. We've not spoken in three years'.

Lorraine also revealed she was briefly engaged to Eddie Murphy in 1988. She explained she wrote him him a fan letter and the actor flew to England to take her for dinner. Just five days later he asked her to marry him!.

'We got engaged after five days! He was my very first boyfriend' Lorraine told us. The relationship didn't last.
