Exclusive: 9 incredible things Strictly's Ed Balls revealed on Loose Women
Ed Balls.
Politician. Infamous tweeter. And Strictly Come Dancing star.
We all know our Janet has a crush on Ed but here are nine other things we learnt about the former Labour politician during his brilliant appearance on Loose Women...
1 Every part of his body is screaming in pain from Strictly training 'I found out last week I've got glutes. They are really sore. I never even knew I had them.'
2 Strictly makes you sweat 'I've only ever worn suits. In training I was wearing a light blue T-shirt, the cameras were all filming and I suddenly realised why every other person was wearing black. I had this huge great sweat patch. I spent the whole time hiding behind Laura Whitmore, it was terrible.'
3 Jeremy Vine went for a naked spray tan on Strictly'I've not done it yet but Jeremy Vine told me when he did it - I think he was sold this by one of the professionals - and he went in totally naked. And it's called a "full Jeremy".'
4 Ed's got some great pearls of wisdom'In life you improve by making mistakes, don't you?'
5 He's overcome a speech impediment 'I had a stammer. And I learned to be open about it was really important. I stammer all the time, I'm good at hiding it.'
6 Ed's wife Yvette Cooper is happy about the Strictly diet'That's the reason why Yvette wanted me to go on. She said, "I'm really envious but you've got to lose some weight." So the only reason she wants me to stay in is because she thinks if I stay in a few more weeks I'll lose a few more pounds.'
7 Boxers or briefs?'Briefs!'
8 He's having a mid-life crisis'I'm loving it. I've totally embraced it. I've learnt to play the piano, I ran three marathons, I've done Strictly. Yvette says, "Get on with it and get the motorbike." But I'm not going to do that, it would be a step too far. If you're going to have a mid-life crisis you might as well embrace it, manage it, enjoy it.'
9 Ed's new peer group are eight year olds'Starting to learn to play the piano from scratch was a hard thing to do but I've really enjoyed it and I've done the exams. The first one I did the other pupils doing it were all under eight!'
