Eternal singer Kelle Bryan in tears as she describes life-threatening lupus: 'Sometimes I can't touch my children'

Eternal singer Kelle Bryan opened up about her experience of living with the disease lupus.
Mum-of-two Kelle, 41, became emotional as she revealed that she has to protect her immune system and is often forced to wear surgical gloves while touching her children to avoid germs and added: 'Sometimes I can’t touch them at all.'
Lupus is caused by problems with the immune system and is aggravated by stress and there is currently no cure – although there are different medications that can help relieve symptoms. It affects many parts of the body that can be life threatening. Symptoms include rashes, fatigue, joint pain and swelling.
At the time she was diagnosed, Kelle had just been dropped by Eternal via a fax and her parents were getting a divorce.
'Lupus is stress related, it was a combination of things in my life. I woke up one morning and I couldn’t move my finger,' she said.
Kelle, who has developed a stutter as a result of the condition, revealed it is often has hidden symptoms which causes problems, explaining, 'I go do my shopping and I can’t always open my purse. The challenges are vast and people can’t understand it.'
But Kelle is feeling well at the moment and ha some good news, saying, 'I am doing much better. I have just had a brain scan and the lupus is not on my brain and I have another bout of chemotherapy in six months times.'
