Deborah Meaden: 'All Dragons are paid the same. We are all upfront about it.'

DRAGONS DEN STAR DEBORAH MEADEN VOICES HER OPINION ON THE RECENT PAY GAP HEADLINES

She's one of the UK's most loved businesswomen and Dragons Den star Deborah Meaden insisted today she 'doesn't see gender'.

Discussing the recent pay gape debate, she confirmed all of her male and female co-stars are paid equally. "I know what the other Dragons are paid. We are all paid the same. We are all upfront about it. If you're doing a job and doing it well you should get paid the rate for the job. It's crazy to alienate."

She continued: "It used to be that women didn't get the good jobs, they used to get the quite junior jobs. But it's got to move on. It's good it is being spoken about as if you talk about it, it gets fixed."

Talking about her investments, she said: "I was asked if I invest more with men but I don't really think about it. I actually looked through and it's the same. My investments are 50/50 male and female."

Deborah is gearing up for the new series of Dragon's Den and admits she still gets the same buzz out of it: "It's been almost 11 years now. I am loving it. I can't think of my life without Dragons Den in it. We've got some stormers this year."

After the show Deborah dashed off to sign off on a new Dragons Den deal. She was tight-lipped on what it was for but said it was a good one!
