Darren Day joins our Body Stories campaign and opens up about his own story: 'I’d stopped looking in the mirror'
DARREN DAY NERVOUSLY APPEARS IN HIS SHORTS AND TELLS OUR LOOSE WOMEN ABOUT HIS BODY IMAGE STRUGGLES
Darren Day joined Ruth, Stacey, Jane and Denise to talk about his own body story after he was shamed by a tabloid with the headline 'The amazing technicolor Dreambloat' which Darren described as 'devastating'.
He said when he looks at the photo now it makes him feel 'quite sad' and saying he was 'incredibly sad at that time'.
Darren also added the body shaming ended up being a 'light bulb moment - it was actually my kick up the behind' .
He went on to say, 'There’s nothing wrong with that light bulb moment. For me it had built up and didn’t realise. I’d stopped looking in the mirrors. I didn’t realise before seeing that front page that I looked pretty awful.'
When Denise asked Darren what he had done to change his body shape, he revealed that he had been 'heavily in the gym and I went to military bootcamp.'
Later on in the show Darren nervously appeared on set in just shorts, joining the men who have already stripped for our Body Stories campaign, admitting that he felt 'incredibly vulnerable'.
