Coronation Street’s Tristan Gemmill: 'I auditioned to be James Bond role in Casino Royale!'

'I AUDITIONED TO BE JAMES BOND', CORRIE'S TRISTAN GEMMILL REVEALS!

Tristan, who currently plays Coronation Street's Robert Preston, revealed he auditioned to play James Bond in Casino Royale before Daniel Craig was eventually cast!

Talking to Coleen Nolan, Saira Khan, Christine Bleakley and Jane Moore, Tristan left us shaken - not stirred - with the movie confession!

'I auditioned for James Bond before Daniel Craig,' Tristan told us. 'They saw pretty much every actor in England who could walk upright.'

Daniel took over the role of 007 in 2005.

'I met the casting director and between us on her desk were piles of DVDs of Ewan McGregor movies, Jude Law movies and Hugh Jackman movies. I could barely see her over this pile of DVDs. So what chance did I stand in that company?'

Tristan added: 'If the producers are by any chance watching and rethinking about it… I'm not free, because I'm contracted to Coronation Street. But I could maybe take a week or two off! It's very flattering and lovely but I have a feeling that ship has sailed.'

Watch the video to see Tristan talk about Corrie, married life and lots more...
