Corrie's Shelley King: Yasmeen's coercive control storyline has affected both men and women

Coronation Street's Shelley King told the Loose Women that she's had messages from men and women who've been affected by her character Yasmeen's coercive control storyline.

Yasmeen has been coercively controlled by her husband, Geoff, in a storyline that's been running since may 2019.

"Initially people were very upset by it," she said, "because it's quite a difficult watch, but as we've gone on, both men and women have begun to identify, or seen circumstances, which they can relate to."

"I've had a lot of direct messages on Twitter from women of all ages, and from men as well," she revealed.
