Beverley Callard is 'fighting' to return to Coronation Street after hip surgery complications
Beverley Callard told the Loose Women that she's "fighting" to make a full recovery from her hip surgery and make a return to Coronation Street in the new year.
Beverley, who has played Corrie icon Liz McDonald for more than three decades, had to put everything on hold after she experienced complications following hip surgery in March.
"I think I damaged my hip doing Thunder Girls on stage last year. Tweaked something or tore something. So, I went in in March for quite a minor operation and then, it just didn’t go well," she told the panel.
"It's been one of the worst times I've gone through. But I have to tell you, I’m battling, I’m fighting. I've got physio every day, hydrotherapy twice a week – I'm trying my best."
She explained that she had to turn down the chance to do Strictly Come Dancing but revealed that she will absolutely be making her way back to the iconic cobbles to give Liz McDonald the send off she deserves.
