Step Up 60
Step Up 60 is an ITV initiative to elevate talent who are Deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent and/or are People of Colour, and work on ITV and ITV Studios produced programmes. Launched in 2020 as part of our Diversity Acceleration Plan, to date 185 people have ‘stepped up’ on to ITV programmes. The initiative was established to support the development and progression of underrepresented talent on ITV programmes and has seen talent ‘step up’ to their next role (based on merit.)
Examples of roles that talent have ‘stepped up’ to include Researchers to Assistant Producers, Production Coordinators to Production Managers, Casting Researchers to Casting Producers and shorts Director to Director of high end TV Drama. ITV programmes that have included a Step Up include I’m A Celebrity, Vera, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
All ITV commissioned programmes are asked to find a Step Up on their productions to support the initiative through completing the Production Principles.
