ITV Pride Network adds the Q
This year, our ITV Pride members have decided to add the ‘Q’ to our ITV Pride strapline - The LGBT+ Network, to become The LGBTQ+ Network.
Adding the Q will include those who identify as Queer, and reflect the increasingly diverse ways the LGBTQ+ community, especially young people, talk about their identity. The word Queer has often been controversial, given the word’s origins, but recently the word has created a space where exploration of gender and sexual identity can take place.
They’ve also added the colours of the Progress Pride flag into their logo, to be inclusive of our minority ethnic and transgender community.
In 2020 ITV Pride launched ITV Pride Day on 30th June - a day for the network members and colleagues to celebrate the ITV LGBTQ+ community. For two years these events have been held virtually, but this year we’re very excited to host our first in-person ITV Pride Day with events in ITV offices across the country.
And to mark Pride month, ITV Pride will be kicking off regular social events across our hub sites in Leeds, London and Manchester - think buzzing offices, drinks, nibbles, music and some surprises too. The first ITV Social will be in collaboration with ITV Pride on Thursday 30th June.
With events happening across the month of June, we look forward to celebrating and marking the time during Pride month with colleagues and wish you all a #HappyPride2022
