Late night talk RADIO presenter Iain Lee says he’s entering the Jungle for his kids – though they won’t know he’s in there until they see him on the TV.
“I told them I was going away for a couple of weeks with work,” he explains. “I couldn’t tell them because they are seven and five. It would have been all over the playground.”
The Jungle is a terrifying prospect for the former host of the 11 O’Clock Show, as he admits he is scared of everything, telling us: “This is all my worst nightmares coming hurtling towards me all at once.
“I am a very lazy, cowardly man who has spent the last 44 years being safe and comfortable.” The Trials might be a bit of a shock to the system, then!
While he says he’s happy to muck in, Iain is also up for causing a bit of mischief in Camp. “I might stir things up,” he confides. “I do like a good argument. If someone is being an idiot, I will tell them so.”
One thing Iain claims he is looking forward to is the Jungle diet, as he’s hoping to shift “a couple of stone”.
“Being a parent, you pick food off your kids’ plates,” he says. “I’m fine with not eating much. Bring it on.”
We’re not sure he’ll be so enthusiastic after his 20th bowl of rice and beans…
