R is for Romance
Contrary to popular belief, being stranded in the Australian wilderness, eating a diet of rice, beans and the occasional fish eye, can do wonders for the ol' love life. One minute you're exchanging nervous hellos, the next you're sharing a hammock, gazing up at the stars and have convinced yourselves you can spell out your names in night's sky.
Before we meet the class of 2016, we're honouring all those Campmates who let Jungle fever get the best of them, whether it ended in romance, or nomance. Here's to all the star-crossed lovers of Jungle past.
1. Kiosk Keith and Vicky
In the beautiful I'm A Celebrity... Jungle, where our story takes place, two star-crossed lovers did meet one sweltering day. She was dressed as a squirrel, he failed to crack a smile. The story of Kiosk Keith and Vicky is one which unfortunately ends in heartbreak. Vicky was sure that the 'utter biscuit' fancied her, but Keith kept his cool throughout. Maybe this year things might work out a bit differently now Vicky is joining the Extra Camp team?
2. Lady C and Dec (with Ant sometimes involved)
Fancy a little of cougar for dessert? We're not sure if it was the face full of green ants or the scorpion on the face that did it, but after battling the Helmets of Hell Bushtucker Trial, Lady C made her move on Dec. There was so much chemistry in the air that Ant had to step away to give the couple some space. Thankfully, Lady C was up for sharing and invited him back.
3. Jorgie and George
Forgive us for getting a little excited early on, but we were certain Jorgie and George would be last year's Camp couple. There were the cuddles and the lingering looks.
They even scrubbed each other's backs, and not many people would do that so early on. However, things got a little bit confusing when Ferne entered Camp and had us all guessing about what would happen next? Jorgie and George? Ferne and George?!
4. Ferne and George
He said she had hands like velvet and they spent many an afternoon frolicking in the pool or making up their own radio show. They even shared their first date in a rat infested bunker. But the look of love you can see above was merely one of friendship, although there are rumours they shared a cheeky snog on the outside.
5. Katie Price and Peter Andre
We couldn't talk about Jungle romances without mentioning this classic twosome. Way back in 2004, when Facebook had launched and Janet Jackson had a fashion mishap at the Super Bowl half-time show, Katie and Peter began one of the most iconic romances in Jungle history.
He wooed her with the classic 'Insania', she displayed bravery in the many Bushtucker Trials you lovely lot subjected her too, and the pair eventually tied the knot in typical Katie and Peter fashion (there was a horse and carriage). Their romance might not have stood the test of time, but it all started on those lovely Jungle hammocks.
6. Joey Essex and Amy Willerton
What happens when you throw one Mr. Essex and one Miss Universe GB into the Australian outback? They enjoy many Jungle showers and backrubs on the hammocks, obviously.
It was clear that the pair fancied each other and soon as they laid eyes on one another. Amy taught Joey a lot about himself, mainly she taught him the time and that had to make a lasting impression.
