Joe Swash
I'm A Celebrity aficionado Joe Swash is back for his ninth year on Extra Camp, with two new hosts in tow for more outrageous Outback antics and behind-the-scenes action.
Jungle Joe has seen it all - from Campmates losing their cool to triumphing over trials, there's no flies (or any other Jungle critter for that matter) on this man!
So what's Joe hoping I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2017 will bring?
What’s the best thing about being back on the Extra Camp team? It’s like being back with my family. We’re like a big, dysfunctional extended family, and because we’re all out here on our own so far away from home, we really lean on each other.
Have you given the newbies any tips? They know the score because they’ve been out there before but the one thing you really have to get used to is the hours. We start at around 11pm at night and work through until 1.30pm the next day. Everyone is in the same boat and you don’t want to let anyone down.
Have you got any pranks planned for the new presenters?I’m really bad at planning pranks. I’ll be trying to test how far I can push them - watch this space...
As a former King of the Jungle, what advice would you give this year’s Campmates? If you can enjoy it, you’re winning. It’s an amazing experience and one you’ll never get again - it’s an amazing place.
Would you rather cook for Camp once or empty the dunny every day?I was on dunny duty when I was in Camp and honestly, I didn’t find it too bad. I’d steer clear of cooking though. There’s always a row around the cooking pot.
Kiosk Keith or Medic Bob?It’s got to be Medic Bob. I love Kiosk Keith but there’s something about Bob, he makes me feel safe. He’s like a father figure; he’s such a lovely man. And he’s got the softest hands. Did you know he’s really famous in Germany? There’s even a song about him. [There really is].
What one item will you not be able to live without in the Jungle?Sun tan lotion. With this pale skin, my skin absolutely screams in Australia. Half my family's Italian so I used to kid myself I could deal with the sun but it's so hot in Australia!
If you could go back into Camp, would you?I’d definitely go back in, I’d love to go back and it not be a competition. I won it already and I wouldn’t want to ruin it, but I’d love to do it again.
Who is your favourite ever Campmate?Scarlett. [This may or may not have been prompted by Scarlett sitting next to Joe]. The last series was brilliant. They all got on so well.
Not Stacey?!I always forget Stacey was a Campmate!
Who would be your fantasy Campmate?I’d have two. The Chuckle Brothers - I watched them as a kid. I’d love the to do a Trial and use their line, ‘To me, to you’.
Tell us something people might not know about you. When I yawn I let out a really operatic sound. I really do. I can’t show you because it has to be a real yawn. You’ve heard it haven’t you Scarlett? [She has. So it must be true].
