7 things we learnt from Day 1
Day 1 in the Jungle saw 10 nervous Celebrities wave goodbye to their luxury lifestyle and say hello to the terrifying Bushtucker Trials.
Here's everything we learnt during the Celeb's trek into Camp and the beginning of their Jungle journey.
1) John Barrowman knows how to pas de bourrée
As first impressions go, John made a memorable one last night as he danced his way into the Jungle.
While awaiting the arrival of his new Campmates, John asked the nearby cocktail waiter whether he knew how to do a pas de bourrée, and when he didn’t respond, Barrowman proceeded to put on a one-man show.
2) Losers can’t be choosers
Dec has a new catchphrase and he wants the whole world to know it: “Losers can't be choosers.”
When explaining the words of wisdom to Holly, he said, “It’s the perfect catchphrase and I’ll tell you why. It tells a story, it’s factually correct and it rhymes. It’s got to rhyme!”
3) The Edge was the highest trial in I’m A Celeb history
Rita, James, John and Sair reached new heights as they took part in The Edge - our highest ever challenge.
In pairs, the Celebs had to climb two towers heading out of a cliffside that were situated a terrifying 100m above the Jungle floor.
Rita and James won the challenge which gave them the power to pick which Celeb joined them next in the Yellow Team.
4) Off-road driving isn’t Fleur’s forte
When Nick and Fleur stepped up to the challenging of driving their new fellow Campmates, we quickly learnt that Nick rules the roads compared to Fleur.
As the Red Team sped off, the Yellow Team came to a halt as Fleur accidentally put the car in fourth gear instead of second…
Rita’s suggestion says it all. “Shall we get out and push?”
5) Malique was feeling a little nervous
One of the first things that Malique told his new Campmate Emily when they met was that he had two nervous poos that morning. What a way to break the ice.
Clearly caught a little off guard by the confession, Emily replied saying, “I guess we’re all going to be living amongst each other quite closely so… Excellent.”
6) Emily has a seriously loud scream
As screams in the Jungle go, Emily’s was something special. Moments before she jumped out of the helicopter in her Jungle skydive, she said, “I’m so scared. What am I doing?”
What followed was one of the loudest and most hilarious screams we think we’ve ever heard.
7) Boats don’t always float
When tasked with a rowing race, the Red Team triumphed and the Yellow Team capsized.
Despite Fleur, Emily, Rita, James and Anne abandoning their sinking ship and swimming the whole challenge, their spirits remained high.
Anne’s confidently told her new soggy Campmates, “we are doing fine.”
