I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here

6 things we learnt from Day 20

Day 20 saw us seamlessly journey from toxic Trials, to a painting lesson, to Santa's workshop. Only on I'm A Celebrity...Bucketloads of the slightly surreal offered us a Jungle-load of entertainment, and of course a few lessons along the way. Let's see what we gleaned on Day 20.

1. Toff is tough, so don’t suggest otherwise

It takes a lot for this ray of sunshine to get annoyed. So when we saw Toff (quite rightly) ranting in the Bush Telegraph about being underestimated for Trials because of her size, we knew she was REALLY frustrated.

“Yes I am quite small, but it doesn’t mean I’m less mighty,” she vented, telling us: “I actually don’t think muscles transpire to stars.”

“I’ve come back with full houses and really busted a gut for everyone and I’m not that big,” she reasoned.

You tell ‘em, Toff!

2. They’re STILL talking about strawberries and cream

Sat in the treehouse, Iain and Amir noted how quiet the Camp felt now that the numbers were dwindling.

“It feels eerie,” noted Iain. “The end is now very close.”

“We’re going to remember these days,” reflected Amir, before Iain said: “I’ve got to be honest, the strawberries and cream…” as the boys laughed.

“I keep telling them they weren’t nice,” joked Amir. “But they were lovely. That cold cream!”

“The cream was incredible,” mused Iain.

Guys, you’re really asking for trouble with this one…

3. No birthday is truly a birthday without a birthday card

They may be in the Jungle without so much as a pen and paper between them, but that didn’t stop Jennie wanting to make Amir feel special on his birthday.

Proving very resourceful, she put the discarded paper used to wrap the beans to good use and made a pencil from a piece of charred wood, allowing the Celebs to give Amir something unique for his Jungle birthday. Ten brownie points for that one, Jennie.

4. Art is subjective… unless you make it using two conjoined Celebs with a giant seesaw brush. Then it’s definitely terrible.

We’re not sure If this was all a bizarre dream, or whether Jamie and Jennie were made to fit into a two-man overall and seesaw off a giant paintbrush in order to complete a burger and chips paint-by-numbers Dingo Dollar Challenge.

Oh wait, that DID happen? Oh.

5. Anything can pass for entertainment in the Jungle

WhileJamie and Jennie worked hard over the stove, the youngsters had some time to kill before dinner was ready. Without phones, laptops or TVs, Toff decided to entertain herself by answering one of life’s great mysteries.

“Do you reckon I could put this up your nostril from here?” she said to Amir, grabbing a piece of wire.

“It’s a new game called, ‘How much can you fit up Amir Khan’s nostril?’”, she later laughed in the Bush Telegraph, observing: “He has one bigger than the other actually.”

Right.

6. Educating Amir never stops

Every day is a school day for Amir Khan when it comes to life in the Jungle. First, he had to understand how the show actually works. Today’s lesson: cheesecake.

When Toff revealed to her Campmates that she’d never eaten cheesecake, there were audible gasps from around the camp fire.

“The name has always put me off,” she told them.

“Yeh but it’s not cheese, it’s a cake,” remarked Amir.

“But it’s got cheese in it,” responded Iain, to which Amir rebuffed: “No it hasn’t.”

“It’s got cream cheese in it,” Iain assured him.

“Oh really? I didn’t know that,” he said, looking bewildered.

Incredible.
