5 things we learnt from Day 9
Last night we finally got to witness the joy that a jam roly-poly brings Harry Redknapp.
Tuck into five things we learnt from Day 9 in the Jungle...
1) Nick Knowles will always be a gentleman
After your votes made Nick the new Camp leader and he selected Anne as his deputy, the pair were upgraded to stay in the Emperor’s Palace.
Waking from their first night's sleep in a proper bed, the luxury of the Palace was soon tainted however as Anne turned over and with unfortunate positioning, let rip in Nick’s direction.
Reflecting on the fart in the Bush Telegraph, Anne said: “I farted in Nick’s face this morning and he didn’t seem to mind so obviously we’re good mates.”
Nick’s response to the outburst couldn’t have been more gentlemanly. His only comment, “It’s entirely understandable, Anne.”
2) Dec has had enough of the words ‘smashed it'
However proud of the Campmates Dec may be, he’s officially had enough of the Celebs saying they’ve ‘smashed it.’
After watching James, John and Rita take on The Quest last night, he vocalised something that has clearly been playing on his mind for some time.
“They smash it here, and they smash it there! They smash it every bloomin’ where this year!” I’m sick to the back teeth of ‘smashed it.’”
3) Malique had no idea who Noel Edmonds is
Bless Malique and his innocence of not realising that one of his Campmates is a TV legend.
During a moment of downtime by the water, Noel and Malique bonded over their backgrounds and Malique confessed that he didn’t really know what Noel is famous for.
After explaining the success of Deal or No Deal, Noel gave a brief outline of his career from Swap Shop to being a Radio 1 breakfast DJ.
Noel took no offence to the unawareness and when talking about Malique in the Bush Telegraph said: “There is a simplicity about him and I don’t mean that for a second in an insulting way. He’s very straightforward.”
4) Nick likes Campmates to follow the rules
Since losing his title of Emperor, poor Noel is struggling to get his head around his new duties within the group.
While on his way to the river to collect more water for Camp, he stumbled across Camp leader Nick and was quickly told that he had broken the Jungle rules by leaving only two people at Camp.
A slightly frustrated Nick said: “Noel, I’m not giving you a hard time because I want to give you a hard time.” If only Noel had counted his Campmates properly...
5) Malique has eyes bigger than his belly
The success of The Quest and the collection of ten out of eleven stars meant that all but one of the Campmates were treated to a luxury banquet for dinner last night.
On the menu was everything from Harry’s beloved jam roly-poly to fresh salads and all the meats. The Celebs were well and truly treated!
For one Campmate in particular, however, the excitement of the feast was too much. After eating platefuls and platefuls of food, Malique had to excuse himself from the table for fear of being sick...
