5 things we learnt from Day 11
Tensions are starting to rise over rice and Nick Knowles is never knowingly near knickers. Here are five things we learnt from Day 11 in the Jungle...
1) Noel has taken up Jungle meditation
Being such an early riser compared to his Campmates, Noel has started meditating to pass the time in the morning.
He said: “I’ve been doing it each morning here and now that I’ve found the swing chair, at last, I’m in my own little world then for a while.”
Maybe we should all try to be a bit more like Noel in the morning and enjoy a few moments of quiet when we first wake up.
2) Harry keeps leaving the toilet seat up
Rightly so, Rita has had enough of the boys leaving the toilet seat up. It’s bad enough having to use the dunny, but falling into it is a whole other level...
Venting in the Bush Telegraph, she said: “The naughty boys have been leaving the toilet seat up and it’s actually gross. It’s gross.”
As leader of the Camp, Nick stepped up and reminded the men that the seat should go down. Initially, none of the boys took responsibility but a few moments (and whispers) later,
Harry confessed to Noel that it was him that forgets to put it back down!
Let’s hope Rita doesn’t find out…
3) Holly hates the eating Trials
It’s the Trial that everyone loves to hate, only for Holly, there seemed to be more hate than love last night.
Holly’s reactions to Malique and Sair eating things like cow’s teats, a pig’s anus and fish eyes during Dreaded Deliveries were truly hysterical. Anyone would have thought she was the one eating the Jungle delicacies.
4) Rita wants more rice
It’s been eleven days in the Jungle and Rita wants more rice.
As Camp cook, John was preparing lunch when Rita quickly expressed her frustration at the lack of rice they’ve been eating recently.
Peering over the pan, she said: “Please put your hand up if you want more rice between eleven of us. It’s just too much to squirrel, it’s ridiculous.”
Poor John took the comments to heart and later in the Bush Telegraph said: “It was almost like it was the blame of the cooks who were doing it. I’ve said from Day 1, food causes arguments.”
5) Nick Knowles is never knowingly near knickers
Nick is ‘just a bit old-fashioned’ when it comes things like opening doors, walking down the street or handling women’s delicates.
When sorting through the Camp washing, he turned to John asked him to hang up the girls’ underwear as he didn’t feel comfortable handling their knickers.
Although John didn’t understand Nick’s approach, Emily did. She said: “I appreciated Nick’s old-fashioned chivalry because I totally understand how a man would feel awkward picking up a young woman’s knickers that he hasn’t known for very long.”
