10 things we learnt from Day 1
Ant and Dec, ten Celebrities and an OBSCENE amount of rain descended upon the Australian Jungle last night. We might have only known our new Campmates a short while, but we've already learnt so much! Here's the top ten things Day 1 taught us...
1. Joel knows what he wants in a Campmate, and it's clear enunciation
Correctly pronouncing 'quinoa' and 'determined' might not mean much to you, but to Joel? It's EVERYTHING.
2. Celebrities have a BIG problem with wind
And who can blame them? If it's not knocking their perfectly coiffed hair out of place, it's getting them all in a wobble as they walk on a plank off of a 32-storey building.
3. Counting to 60 seconds is harder than you think
...especially when you're plummeting towards the ground at around 120mph. Do you use the Mississippi method? How fast is the Mississippi method anyway?
4. Larry is already a Jungle HERO
Larry came to the rescue when Scarlett became stuck in murky waters and restored our faith in humanity once again. Next time you find yourself in a tricky situation, think WWLD? (What Would Larry Do)
5. Fake tan + Jungle = NOT IDEAL
Not only did Scarlett's outfit cause her problems on the canoe, the torrential rain was quickly stripping off her fake tan as every droplet poured down. Think what a Jungle shower will do...
6. Lighting a Campfire is like getting your head around astrophysics
How many men does it take to light a campfire? Step forward Vorders and Camp caveman Larry to show the boys how it's done.
7. The nation might be a little in love with Joel
And it's not because of this. Promise.
8. The dunny is nothing like a public toilet
What is it with Celebrities and the dunny? Funnily enough, our Jungle toilet does not feature a flush, velvety soft tissue paper or moisturising hand wash. The Outback Shack was fresh out.
9. Losing challenges isn't ALL bad...
The Saviours Challenge saw Campmates competing to save their partner from the Tomb of Torment Bushtucker Trial. For some, it was a joyous celebration as they discovered they'd been saved. For others, it was... a joyous celebration as they discovered they had both failed to save each other! Every silver lining.
10. You can go to the deepest depths of the Australian Jungle...
...and you'll still have to deal with snorers.
Who knows what Day 2 in Camp will teach us? Find out tonight at 9pm on ITV.
